The Antonio Banderas of Spanish Cooking

Birmingham’s very own ‘unapologetically sassy’ lifestyle magazine SIXTY NINE DEGREES met up with Omar for their Autumn issue.

Spanish born chef and larger than life personality Omar Allibhoy is bringing the Tapas Revolution to Birmingham in September. Dubbed the Antonio Banderas of cooking by Gordon Ramsey, he's a man on a mission to bring the joy authentic tapas food to the UK.

We caught up with the heartthrob Chef ahead of his Tapas Revolution launch...

Why did you decide to come to Birmingham and why Grand Central?

"Birmingham has a great food scene and is increasingly becoming a destination city – for tourists and for businesses – and it’s gaining a really positive reputation. I wanted to get involved in the buzz happening here and bring a real taste of Spain to the city centre. Grand Central is a perfect location – right in the bustle of Birmingham where commuters and shoppers can drop into our tapas bar for a drink and some good food with friends, and then move on with whatever they’re doing."
